Washington -UNS: US President Donald Trump has indicated that the ongoing ceasefire with Iran will be extended by approximately two days, shifting the deadline to Wednesday evening Washington time.
Speaking in a phone interview with Bloomberg, Trump said the truce — originally set to expire on April 21 at 8pm ET — would now continue until midweek.
However, he signaled that no further extensions are likely, stating it was “highly unlikely” he would prolong the ceasefire beyond the revised deadline if no agreement is reached.
The development comes amid continued uncertainty surrounding diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran, with tensions remaining high and the prospects for a lasting agreement still unclear.
