WASHINGTON -UNS: The United States has carried out its 13th consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran, with the US Central Command (CENTCOM) saying the operations are intended to hold Tehran accountable and reduce threats posed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to commercial shipping.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the latest wave of strikes began at 6:45 p.m. ET, describing the campaign as part of ongoing efforts to counter security threats in the region.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump indicated that Washington was not ready to negotiate a new ceasefire with Iran, suggesting military operations would continue.
“They need more of the same,” Trump said, signaling that the United States intends to maintain pressure on Iran following nearly two weeks of sustained airstrikes.
