Iran Executes Another Accused of Spying for Israel

TEHRAN-BBC/UNS : Iran has executed another individual on charges of spying for Israel, according to reports from Iranian media.
A court in Iran handed down the death sentence to a man accused of working with Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad. The reports stated that the individual had been employed within a sensitive government body and allegedly maintained extensive contact with a Mossad officer.
This execution follows another carried out on Tuesday, when a separate individual was put to death over alleged links to Mossad in connection with protests that took place in January.
Since the onset of the current conflict, Iran has executed more than a dozen people. The charges have varied, including accusations of espionage for Israel, ties to the exiled opposition group Mojahedin-e-Khalq, and involvement in recent unrest.
Meanwhile, Iran’s judiciary on Tuesday denied reports claiming that eight women were facing imminent execution. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump called for their release.
According to the judiciary-run Mizan News Agency, the reports were “false” and part of misinformation spread by hostile media. The agency added that several of the women had already been released, while others were facing charges that do not carry the death penalty.
