Govt Raises Petrol, Diesel Prices by Nearly Rs27 Per Litre

By Staff Reporter

Islamabad: The federal government on Friday announced a significant increase in petroleum prices, raising the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs26.77 per litre each.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised prices will come into effect from April 25, 2026, and will remain applicable for the next week.
The sharp increase is expected to add to the financial burden on consumers already grappling with inflation, as fuel prices directly impact transportation costs and the overall cost of living.
Officials stated that the revision in prices reflects adjustments in international oil markets and other fiscal considerations.
