Islamabad: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad late Friday night as part of his regional tour that includes visits to friendly countries.
He was received at the airport by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.
Sources said Araghchi’s visit is part of ongoing diplomatic engagements with countries including Pakistan, Russia, and Turkey. During his stay in Islamabad, discussions on regional cooperation and bilateral relations are expected.
There are also reports suggesting the possibility of a second round of talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad. However, Araghchi has not confirmed any such development.
Meanwhile, a US delegation is reportedly departing from WashingtTheon for Pakistan.
The Iranian delegation accompanying Araghchi is described as a small team.
Further developments are awaited as diplomatic engagements continue.
