Imran warned against governor’s rule in KP: Aleema Khan

UNS: PTI founder Imran Khan sister Aleema Khan has said that the incarcerated PTI founder has warned the authorities that if governor’s rule is imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, “then see what happens.”

Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Aleema Khan said the PTI founder is being kept in solitary confinement and is now being tortured. “Imran Khan is the voice of the people, and they are trying to silence that voice,” she added.

She said the PTI founder had told them he would “never bow before tyranny,” and that his supporters also would not.

She alleged that her sister Noreen Niazi was tortured, and Uzma Rani was dragged and thrown into a police van on the instructions of SHO Gulnaz. “He has set an example that one must fear only Allah,” she said.

Aleema Khan added that they could easily sit at home, “but our brother is standing for Pakistan’s future — and now the people must also stand up.”

She said the PTI founder warned, “Impose governor’s rule in KP and then see what happens,” adding that the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands with PTI. “Removing elected representatives to install your own man is dictatorship,” she said. “If you bring dictatorship, unrest will spread — and that is exactly what they want.”

Aleema said that six people are scheduled to meet the PTI founder on Tuesday. “I am talking about the law — under what law are they stopping us from meeting him? Is following the law only our responsibility? We are not afraid of their threats,” she said.

The PTI founder’s sister further said, “They roam around with heavy protocol. Let them come and sit alone like us. They talk about dealing with us — then deal with us personally. Sitting on a stolen mandate, they tell us we cannot meet our brother.”

The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has extended the interim bail of Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Asad Umar, and others in May 9 arson cases.
