RED SEA UNS- The Yemeni Naval Forces have claimed responsibility for a military operation targeting the Saudi-flagged vessel “Dalal” in the Red Sea, alleging that the vessel was intercepted by two military boats after its crew failed to respond to repeated warnings and instructions.
According to the statement issued by the Yemeni Naval Forces, the operation was carried out after the vessel allegedly ignored multiple calls to alter or halt its course. The Yemeni forces said they subsequently intercepted the vessel, citing what they described as the need to prevent it from continuing along its route.
STRONG MARITIME WARNING
The Yemeni Naval Forces issued a renewed and explicit warning to shipping companies, commercial vessels and maritime crews operating routes towards Saudi Arabian and Israeli ports, declaring that vessels which disregard their instructions or fail to respond to their warnings could be subjected to direct military action.
The statement further warned commercial shipping operators against ignoring maritime directives issued by the Yemeni forces, and called on crews to comply with such instructions in order to avoid escalation and protect the safety of personnel on board.
CLAIMED CONTINUATION OF MARITIME BLOCKADE
The Yemeni Naval Forces said they would continue what they described as a maritime blockade targeting shipping movements bound for Israeli ports and ports allegedly associated with military operations against Yemen.
The statement said the measures would remain in force until the circumstances cited by the Yemeni forces as the basis for the blockade were brought to an end.
