“Govt Should Address Public Issues Instead of Political Confrontation”

RAWALPINDI -UNS: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab Vice President and senior columnist Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry has urged the Government of Pakistan to move beyond what he termed “hollow rhetoric” and focus on practical measures to safeguard the country’s national interests.

In a press statement issued from Rawalpindi, Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry said that the Pakistani nation is no longer impressed by fiery speeches, political threats, or provocative slogans. He stressed that the people expect performance, transparency, and effective governance rather than political grandstanding.

He said that while strong statements have often been made against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the real test of leadership lies in protecting Pakistan’s national interests through sound diplomacy, economic stability, and a clear national strategy. According to him, the country’s pressing challenges—including inflation, unemployment, energy shortages, and economic uncertainty—deserve immediate and serious attention.

Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry also referred to the vision of Choudhary Rahmat Ali, stating that he had foreseen the strategic importance of Kashmir and the protection of water resources long before the creation of Pakistan. He added that former Prime Minister Imran Khan had also acknowledged Rahmat Ali’s farsighted vision, describing him as a leader who thought well beyond his own era.

He emphasized that the government should concentrate on national unity, economic recovery, the Kashmir issue, water security, and public welfare instead of political confrontation and empty rhetoric.

Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry concluded by saying that Pakistan needs leadership defined by vision, integrity, and practical performance, adding that history remembers those who serve the nation through action rather than political bluster.
