ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed relevant officials to submit data on government employees, including details of quotas for women, minorities and persons with disabilities, by October 27.
According to an FBR circular, officials must provide records of employees as of July 1, 2026. The board described the matter as extremely urgent and set October 27 as the deadline for submitting the required information.
The data must include the number and positions of women recruited on merit, as well as details of the 10 per cent quota reserved for women.
Officials have also been asked to provide information on the five per cent quota for minorities, including sanctioned, filled and vacant posts. Records relating to the two per cent quota for persons with disabilities must also be submitted.
The FBR further sought details of vacant posts reserved for Sindh under the provincial quota in the federal secretariat. The records will subsequently be forwarded to the Establishment Division.
Separately, the board requested information on Sindh’s urban and rural quotas, expressing concern over a delay of more than four months. The notice said the required records had not been submitted despite several reminders.
The FBR directed the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue in Karachi to ensure that Corporate Tax Office-I Karachi provides the requested information by October 23.
Officials have been instructed to submit a report even if the requested information is unavailable.
