No Nuclear Strikes on Iran says Trump; Pentagon Reportedly Weighs ‘Mother of All Bombs’

UNS- US President Donald Trump has ruled out using nuclear weapons against Iran, amid reports that the Pentagon is considering new military strike options that could involve the powerful conventional bomb known as the “Mother of All Bombs.”

Speaking to Newsmax on Thursday, Trump discussed the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), which has been mentioned in reports about potential strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities and energy infrastructure.

“The mother of all bombs is not nuclear,” Trump said, describing the weapon as an extremely large conventional bomb.
Comparing its destructive power to that of a nuclear weapon, Trump said it was “like a tiny nuclear bomb,” while stressing that it was not nuclear.
“I wouldn’t use nuclear. We don’t have to,” he added.

The remarks came after reports published Thursday cited multiple US officials as saying the Department of War was developing additional strike plans targeting Iran. The reported options could involve attacks either before or after the November 3 midterm elections.

The reports have highlighted the possibility of further military action against Iran, although the timing and scope of any potential strikes remain unclear.
