DUBAI-UNS : Authorities in Dubai responded to a series of drone-related incidents across the city from late Wednesday night into Thursday, with no injuries reported, according to the Dubai Government Media Office.
Officials said one drone crashed into the facade of a building near Dubai Creek Harbour late at night, triggering a minor fire. Teams from Dubai Civil Defence quickly responded, contained the blaze, and secured the area to ensure the safety of residents.
Another drone crash was reported earlier on Thursday in the Al Bada’a district. Emergency and security teams promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation, and authorities confirmed that no casualties occurred.
Debris from drones was also reported along Sheikh Zayed Road, while officials said all emergency and safety protocols were fully implemented during the incidents.
Authorities noted that investigations are underway to determine the origin and nature of the drones involved.
The incidents come amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region, where the use of drones has increasingly emerged as a modern security challenge. Although officials have not confirmed any direct link between the incidents and regional conflicts, the events highlight growing concerns about the vulnerability of major urban centres to unmanned aerial threats.
The Dubai Government Media Office said emergency services handled the situation swiftly and efficiently, reassuring residents that the incidents were brought under control without harm.
