Pakistan, US discuss security cooperation, direct flights

Islamabad-UNS: Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State S. Paul Kapur to discuss bilateral relations, regional security, and counterterrorism cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Acting U.S.

Ambassador Natalie Baker, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, and senior officials from the Interior Ministry.

Both sides exchanged views on Pakistan-U.S. relations, the evolving situation in the Middle East, and ways to enhance cooperation in security, counterterrorism, and counternarcotics efforts.

Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan-U.S. ties had strengthened during the tenure of President Donald Trump, adding that the relationship is built on mutual trust and bilateral cooperation.

The Interior Minister also assured foolproof security for American companies involved in the Reko Diq mining project and emphasized Pakistan’s desire for the early restoration of direct flights between Pakistan and the United States.

He further expressed hope for a peaceful and lasting resolution to the ongoing Middle East conflict.

S. Paul Kapur appreciated Pakistan’s efforts and role in promoting regional peace and stability.
