ISLAMABAD: A delegation of experts from the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday briefed Pakistani political parties representatives and media on Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building at a thematic session at the local Hotel.
The event was jointly hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), with Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani as chief guest.
Addressing the event Chairman Senate,Gilani said that Pakistan-China friendship enjoys national consensus and the briefing offered an opportunity for mutual learning.
He welcomed the CPC delegation, saying Pakistan values its ties with China and seeks to learn from the country’s development experience.
He said bilateral contacts between China, Pakistan in economic and social fields were expanding, with strong support from both peoples and leaderships.
In his address the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong said President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders share a common understanding of the importance of China-Pakistan relations in the new era.
He said Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building had been implemented across the CPC and provided guidance for strengthening the Party and advancing Chinese modernization.
Jiang said CPC leadership was a defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics and highlighted China’s achievements in poverty reduction. He said China-Pakistan cooperation, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), reflected a people-centered approach and had generated investment, employment and power-generation capacity in Pakistan.
He said China was ready to work with Pakistan to implement understandings reached by President Xi Jinping, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, advance CPEC 2.0 and launch more livelihood-oriented projects.
The visiting CPC officials said the Party, marking its 105th anniversary this year, has more than 100 million members and maintains exchanges with over 800 political parties worldwide.
They stressed that every country should follow a development path suited to its history, culture and national conditions, and said the CPC would continue exchanges with Pakistani political parties on governance and party building.
