Islamabad: The Embassy of Romania in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), awarded certificates to students who successfully completed the Opera Singing Courses during a ceremony held at the Romanian Embassy in Islamabad.
The event marked the culmination of a pioneering cultural initiative launched in April 2025 and reflected the collective efforts of Romanian and Pakistani institutions, artists, and cultural stakeholders working to promote opera and artistic exchange in Pakistan.
Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dan Stoenescu, and Romanian soprano Georgiana Costea-Glugă congratulated the students on their achievements and praised their dedication to introducing a new musical tradition in the country.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the Embassy of Romania, PNCA, and the Pakistan-Romania Friendship Association, along with the award-winning students Imran Parvez Khan, Iria Siona, Ayzer Adeel, and Mohammad Tayyab Akbar.
The success of the initiative was widely recognized as the result of teamwork and close cooperation among all partners involved. Organizers also acknowledged the significant role played by Mashwani, whose efforts were instrumental in coordinating arrangements and helping bring the event to fruition.
The Opera Singing Courses, held twice weekly at PNCA, focus on vocal technique, stage performance, musical interpretation, and artistic expression, while fostering cultural understanding between Romania and Pakistan.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cultural relations and expanding opportunities for young Pakistani artists through similar educational and artistic initiatives in the future.
