Islamabad: In a solemn gesture of respect and solidarity, a formal acknowledgment has been extended to the Rwanda High Commission in Islamabad on the occasion of Kwibuka 32, the annual commemoration of the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
The message conveyed deep appreciation for the High Commission’s communication marking the remembrance period, recognizing the profound significance it holds for the people of Rwanda.
Kwibuka 32 commemorates the tragic loss of more than one million innocent lives, serving as a powerful reminder of one of the darkest chapters in human history.
The statement also highlighted the importance of this year’s theme, “Remember, Unite, Renew,” emphasizing not only remembrance but also a renewed global commitment to unity, solidarity with survivors, and collective efforts to prevent genocide and counter hate-driven ideologies.
Reaffirming its stance, the message assured that the commemoration would be observed with utmost sensitivity and responsibility in all forms of coverage and communication.
It further expressed solidarity with the people of Rwanda during this period of mourning.
The acknowledgment concluded with a strong reiteration of the shared commitment to promoting peace, humanity, and the enduring principle of “Never Again,” alongside extending deepest sympathies and respectful regards.
