Action taken against gas pilferers by SNGPL

ISLAMABAD -UNS: As part of the recently launched crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL’s regional teams conducted series of successful raids in different cities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. Following is the detail of actions taken in different cities/ regions:
Peshawar : 08 domestic connections were disconnected on direct use of gas; 12 illegal domestic connections disconnected; and 02 FIRs were lodged.
Rawalpindi : 11 domestic connections were disconnected on direct use of gas and 01 disconnected due to compressor use.
Mardan : 04 fake domestic meters were disconnected and 02 disconnected due to commercial use.
Sialkot : 08 domestic connections were disconnected on use of compressor; 01 due to commercial use; while 12 connections were disconnected due to illegal extensions.
Sargodha:17 disconnected due to theft by meter temparing, 01 disconnected due to direct use , 09 disconnected due to illegal extension
Gujranwala : 02 disconnected on meter tampering; 01 disconnected due to direct use; 24 disconnected on use of compressor and 03 disconnected on use of domestic connection for commercial purpose.
Gujrat : 11 disconnected due to illegal extension, 01 disconnected due to compressor use and 01 disconnected due to domestic to commercial use.
Islamabad : 08 disconnected on direct use of gas.
Sahiwal : 01 disconnected on use of compressor; 03 due to illegal extensions and 19 disconnected on meter tampering.
Faisalabad : 04 disconnected on use of compressor; 21 due to illegal extensions and 19 on meter tampering.
Lahore : 02 domestic connection disconnected on use of compressor; 02 due to commercial use; 03 due to illegal extensions; 01 on illegal tapping and 34 due to meter tampering.
Bahawalpur : 25 Disconnected on use of compressor;; 5 due to illegal extensions and 01 due to meter tampering.
Multan : 07 domestic meters disconnected on use of compressor; 14 due to illegal extensions and 01 due to commercial use.
Sheikhupura : 02 domestic meters disconnected on use of compressor and 11 due to illegal extensions.
The Cases are being processed for booking of volume as per SOP. Moreover, applications in the local police stations have also been submitted for lodging of FIRs against gas pilferers as per law.
