ISLAMABAD -UNS : Advocate Sardar Waqar Shehzad hosted a luncheon at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, in honour of South African High Commissioner Rudolph Pierre Jordaan, bringing together diplomats and distinguished guests to promote international friendship and bilateral cooperation.
Among the notable attendees were Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, and Ms. Misbah Khar, Adviser to the Chairman Senate.
Welcoming the guests, Sardar Waqar Shehzad said it was a privilege to host such distinguished personalities, adding that Pakistan deeply values its longstanding friendships with South Africa and countries around the world.
He noted that Pakistan’s doors remain open to the international community, particularly inviting visitors to experience the natural beauty, culture and hospitality of Swat Valley, often described as the “Switzerland of Pakistan.”
He emphasized that stronger people-to-people contacts are essential for building enduring partnerships and a shared future.
As a gesture of goodwill, Sardar Waqar Shehzad presented a symbolic “Open Door” commemorative souvenir to South African High Commissioner Rudolph Pierre Jordaan and OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza. The souvenirs represented Pakistan’s message of openness, friendship and cooperation with the international community and overseas Pakistanis.
The luncheon provided a cordial platform for meaningful discussions on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding cooperation and recognising the valuable contributions of overseas Pakistanis.
