Federal Urdu University Crisis Deepens as FAPUASA Demands Urgent Government Action against VC

Raises Alarm Over Dismissals Unpaid Salaries and Staff Welfare Issues at Federal Urdu University

KARACHI -UNS: The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) has shown serious concern about the ongoing situation at the Federal Urdu University for several ongoing issues.

These include the forced dismissal of teachers and staff, non-payment of salaries, house ceiling allowances, pensions, and dues for retired employees.

The federation also raised serious concerns over the misconduct with female faculty members and retaliatory actions against university staff.

​According to the federation, these measures are not only damaging the higher education environment but are also causing severe mental and financial distress to the faculty, staff, and their families. FAPUASA has demanded immediate and sustainable measures on an emergency basis to resolve these issues.

​Furthermore, the federation has appealed to the Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University, President Asif Ali Zardari; Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif; Pro-Chancellor of the university, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui; and the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission.

They have urged leadership to intervene immediately to resolve the ongoing crisis at the Federal Urdu University and ensure the protection of the interests of teachers, staff, and students.
