ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces killed 26 militants in a series of precise and targeted operations conducted along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced on Tuesday.

According to the minister, the strikes were launched following recent terrorist attacks in different parts of the country, including the attack on a Federal Constabulary post in Musa Dara on June 9, a vehicle-borne suicide attack on a military post in North Waziristan on June 2, and an assault on a police station in Bannu on May 9.

Tarar said the operations were carried out on the basis of credible intelligence, targeting militant camps, hideouts, training facilities and ammunition depots linked to the banned group referred to as “Fitna Al Khwarij”.

He stated that four major targets were completely destroyed, including a training centre, a hideout, an ammunition cache and operational centres associated with commanders Aleem Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel.

The minister emphasized that the strikes were conducted with precision to neutralize threats while maintaining regional stability. He reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to peace in the region but will continue to take decisive action to protect its citizens and safeguard national security.
