Prayer Ceremony held at NPC for father of Journalist T.M. Awan

ISLAMABAD-UNS: A prayer ceremony was held at the National Press Club Islamabad for the late Muhammad Latif, father of senior journalist and columnist T.M. Awan. A large number of people from different walks of life attended the gathering and offered prayers for the departed soul.
Among the participants were senior officials, journalists, diplomats, academics and representatives of social and political organisations, including Press Information Department Director General Ayesha Tseddaq, National Press Club President Azhar Jatoi, former RIUJ president Tariq Virk, PFUJ (Workers) President Dr Sadia Kamal, senior journalist Javaid Malik, and several editors and media professionals.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Abu Bakar Madani said that death is an unavoidable reality and reminded participants that worldly life is temporary while the Hereafter is eternal. He stressed the importance of righteous deeds, good character, honesty and fulfilment of others’ rights as true measures of success.
Collective prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the late Muhammad Latif and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
Speaking on the occasion, T.M. Awan thanked all those who attended and said the support and prayers of colleagues and friends had provided great comfort during his time of grief.
