RAWALPINDI – A Station House Officer (SHO) has been dismissed from service and taken into custody after an internal police inquiry found him guilty of harassing a lady doctor who had approached the police station to lodge a domestic complaint.
According to official sources, the lady doctor had visited a police station in the Loi Pir area following a dispute with her husband. It is alleged that the SHO misused his authority and attempted to establish personal contact with her, repeatedly calling and messaging her despite her objections.
Distressed by the situation, the woman submitted a complaint to senior police अधिकारियों and later approached the media. After the issue was highlighted, senior officers of Rawalpindi Police initiated a formal investigation.
The inquiry reportedly confirmed the woman’s allegations. As a result, the SHO was removed from service, registered in a criminal case, and confined in the lock-up of his own police station.
Police officials stated that further legal action will proceed according to law, and the accused officer may be transferred to Adiala Jail after completion of initial formalities.
The case has been cited by police authorities as an example of accountability within the department and a warning against misuse of power.
