ISLAMABAD: An important leadership meeting of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP) is underway in Islamabad under the chairmanship of TTAP Chairman and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
The meeting is holding detailed discussions on the political and law-and-order situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as concerns regarding the treatment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the alleged violation of the constitutional and fundamental rights of political prisoners, and issues related to constitutional governance and the rule of law in the country.
The meeting is also discussing the treatment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other political detainees, including concerns regarding their constitutional, legal, and human rights.
The deteriorating law-and-order situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with its political and constitutional implications, is also under consideration.
Participants are deliberating on measures to uphold constitutional supremacy, protect democratic values, safeguard human rights, and promote political stability in Pakistan.
Among those attending the meeting are Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and head of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Senator Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri; Balochistan National Party chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal; Pakistan Rights Movement chief Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan; Sindh United Party leader Zain Shah; Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and legal counsel for former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry; Acting Chairman of Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hassan Raza; Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar; former Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair Umar; Haqooq-e-Khalq Party Secretary General Ammar Ali Jan; BNP leader Sajid Khan Tareen Advocate; TTAP spokesperson Hussain Ahmad Yousafzai; and former members of the Balochistan Assembly Nawaz Baloch, Malik Naseer Shewani, and Haji Zahid Baloch, along with other prominent political figures.
Participants are reviewing the ongoing public protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and allegations of excessive use of force against demonstrators.
