ISLAMABAD -UNS : Pakistan is considering possible airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen following a request from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye Today reported, citing Pakistani sources.
The reported proposal comes after a series of Houthi missile and drone attacks on southern Saudi Arabia that wounded dozens of people and targeted military and energy infrastructure.
According to the report, a potential Pakistani operation could target Houthi strongholds in northern Yemen, including areas around Saada, with the stated objective of countering the group responsible for attacks against Saudi territory.
However, no final decision has been publicly confirmed. Reuters reported that Pakistani sources said Islamabad had not decided to participate in retaliatory strikes and that any military role would remain focused on defending Saudi territory rather than conducting combat operations inside Yemen.
The reported deliberations come as the newly signed Saudi-Pakistani-Turkish defence agreement faces its first major test. Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that continued attacks or spillover from Yemen into Saudi Arabia could activate the agreement’s collective-defence provisions.
