LAHORE -UNS : The Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has announced a nationwide protest on Friday against what it described as a terrorist attack by Houthi rebels targeting Makkah. Conferences, seminars and protest rallies will be held in different cities, while religious scholars will highlight the sanctity of the holy sites in their Friday sermons.
Addressing a meeting of media representatives, PMML spokesperson Dr Muzamil Iqbal Hashmi said Makkah and Madinah were centres of love and devotion for Muslims across the world.
He said the Muslim Ummah was united on the sanctity of the two holy mosques and that no disruptive group should be allowed to cast an evil eye on the sacred places.
Dr Hashmi said the reported attempt by the Houthi rebels to put Makkah at risk had deeply hurt the sentiments of Muslims and caused widespread concern across the Muslim world.
