Swabi/Swat – UNS : On the special directives of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed visited the residences of families of two workers who lost their lives in a mining accident at the Sourange Coal Mine in Balochistan and belonged to Jhando Islam Pura area of Swabi and Tal Dardiyal area of Tehsil Kabal, Swat.
He offered Fateha and expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved families.
On the occasion, Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed conveyed the condolences of Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain to the grieving families and delivered the Federal Minister’s special message of sympathy and solidarity. On behalf of the Workers Welfare Fund, cheques of Rs. 1 million each were also presented to the families of both deceased workers.
It may be recalled that, as part of the initiative for immediate financial assistance to families affected by mining accidents in Balochistan, the Workers Welfare Fund had earlier provided relief cheques of Rs. 1 million each to 32 affected families from Shangla and Alpuri.
Thus, the Workers Welfare Fund continues its efforts to reach affected families at their doorsteps and provide timely and practical assistance during difficult times.
Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed said that “the pain of workers is our pain” and that the Workers Welfare Fund stands firmly with its brothers and their families in every hour of difficulty.
He said that no amount of compensation can replace a human life; however, the government and the Workers Welfare Fund will not leave the affected families alone and will continue to provide them with all possible assistance.
He further said that “the children of the martyrs are our own children; they are the children of the Workers Welfare Fund.” He added that the Workers Welfare Fund would extend every possible support for their educational expenses and other basic necessities of life so that the future of the martyrs’ children could be secured and made brighter.
The Secretary Workers Welfare Fund said that under the special directives of Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the welfare of the working class, protection of their rights, and provision of immediate assistance to them in difficult circumstances are being given priority.
He said that workers are the backbone of the national economy and development, and ensuring the welfare and support of their families is an important responsibility of the state.
On the occasion, representatives of workers’ organizations and the heirs of the deceased workers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed.
They appreciated the provision of financial assistance to the affected families at their doorsteps within such a short period, terming it a commendable and exemplary initiative.
They said that, compared to the past, the prompt outreach to affected families and timely provision of financial assistance demonstrated the practical implementation of the government’s and Workers Welfare Fund’s worker-friendly policies.
The heirs and representatives of the workers said that they were deeply grateful to Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed for sharing in the grief of the affected families and extending immediate financial assistance.
They termed the initiative a shining example of the government’s sense of responsibility and practical compassion towards workers and their families.
The Workers Welfare Fund assured the families of the martyrs that the sacrifices of their loved ones would never be forgotten and that all possible assistance would continue to be provided for the welfare of the affected families, education of the children, and protection of their future.
