Mendis, Farhan Fire Zalmi to Commanding 7-Wicket Win Over Karachi Kings in PSL 11 Clash

Lahore-UNS: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by seven wickets in the 32nd match of PSL 11 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, completing a dominant chase of 183 runs in 18.5 overs. Kusal Mendis and Farhan Yousaf starred in the chase, guiding Zalmi to victory with unbeaten half-centuries.

The innings began with a 37-run opening stand between James Vince and Babar Azam. Vince made 16 off 10 balls before Hasan Ali struck, while Babar scored 25 off 19 deliveries before Abbas Afridi dismissed him, leaving Zalmi at 45 for 2. Kusal Mendis anchored the innings, reaching his fourth PSL 11 half-century, while Aaron Hardie fell for five at 95 for 3, giving Karachi a brief opening. However, Mendis and Farhan Yousaf built a decisive partnership, accelerating the chase with controlled aggression and regular boundaries. Farhan reached his maiden PSL fifty with an unbeaten 58 off 35 balls, while Mendis finished not out on 80 off 43 deliveries, hitting five fours and four sixes.

Mendis was named Player of the Match. Earlier, Karachi Kings posted 182 for 9 after Jason Roy’s 85 off 51 balls. Azam Khan added 35 off 19, but Ali Raza’s four-wicket haul, including a hat-trick in the final over, restricted them below 190. Zalmi’s bowlers also shared wickets to control the innings and secured a comfortable series victory in Lahore stadium crowd cheered loudly.
