Ismail Dhari, a former close associate of President and Co- Chairperson Pakistan People’s Party PPP,Asif Ali Zardari, is reportedly in critical condition at a hospital, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Reports claim that Dhari has not been receiving regular visits from senior leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party and that concerns have been raised regarding his medical care and overall well-being. Hospital sources cited by local media allege that his health has been deteriorating steadily.
According to officials, restrictions have allegedly been placed on Dhari’s meetings with relatives and visitors.
Sources further claim that these measures were imposed under directives from provincial authorities.
However, no official statement has been issued by the Sindh government regarding these allegations.
Dhari previously made statements in Dubai in which he reportedly named several individuals he claimed were directly or indirectly linked to the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The claims remain unverified and have not been confirmed by any court of law.
Sources also allege that strict controls have been maintained over Dhari’s access to visitors despite the fact that the Sindh High Court has granted him bail. According to reports, he has yet to be released.
Neither the Sindh government nor representatives of the individuals named in the allegations have publicly responded to these claims. The matter remains subject to official verification and legal proceedings.
