ISLAMABAD: The residents of Federal capital especially, residents of G-13 and G-14 have expressed serious concerns over the worsening law and order situation in the area, alleging that robbers and thieves are operating freely while police response remains ineffective.
In a recent incident in G-13, armed robbers allegedly looted a house and escaped with six tolas of gold, laptops, and other valuable items after completely ransacking the property.
According to the victims, the FIR was registered three days after the incident at Sumbal Police Station, Islamabad. They also accused ASI Shakeel Abbas of displaying inappropriate and unprofessional behavior towards the affected family.
They alleged that at least four major theft incidents have occurred within the jurisdiction of Sumbal Police Station during the past week, but police officials have reportedly been reluctant to register FIRs.
Residents claim they are frustrated with the non-professional attitude of the police and have lost confidence in the performance of the Islamabad Police.
Victims further alleged that ASI Shakeel Abbas refused to register complaints immediately, stating that “more than two FIRs cannot be registered in a single day.”
Citizens also criticized the deployment of federal police personnel on VIP protocol duties, claiming that ordinary people have been left at the mercy of criminals.
The public has urged the Federal Interior Minister and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to take immediate notice of the deteriorating security situation and improve the overall performance of the federal police.
