Iran Rejects US Claim of Facilitating One Billion Barrels of Oil through Hormuz

News Desk

TEHRAN: Iran’s armed forces have rejected a US claim that American forces helped facilitate the passage of more than one billion barrels of Persian Gulf crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz while restricting Iranian exports.
Senior Iranian military spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi described the claim by US Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper as “false” and “ridiculous.”
Shekarchi accused Washington of conducting a psychological campaign to boost the morale of US forces and justify the financial and human costs of the continuing conflict.
He maintained that the American assertion would not alter what Tehran described as the reality of the US military’s declining regional position. The United States has not immediately responded to the Iranian military’s latest remarks.
