RAWALPINDI -UNS: A special team of doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Shifa Eye Hospital conducted a detailed medical examination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, officials said on Sunday.
According to jail authorities, the medical team visited the prison to assess the former prime minister’s health and carry out several routine tests.
The team was led by PIMS physician Dr Arif Khan and assisted by medical personnel from the Adiala Jail hospital.
During the examination, doctors checked Imran Khan’s blood pressure, cholesterol levels and eyesight. Other aspects of his general health were also assessed as part of the comprehensive check-up.
Sources said the visiting specialists completed the examination and subsequently departed from the prison. However, jail authorities did not immediately disclose the results of the tests or provide further details regarding the PTI founder’s health condition.
The latest check-up comes after a series of previous medical examinations conducted by specialist doctors from PIMS and other healthcare institutions.
Imran Khan remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail in connection with multiple cases. His health and access to medical facilities have repeatedly drawn attention from his family members, legal representatives and party leaders, who have continued to demand appropriate medical care and regular specialist examinations.
