DUBAI-UNS: Iran warned on Sunday against any major new military action by the United States and its allies, claiming it had received information that such an attack was being prepared.
Iran’s military central command said any fresh assault would prompt sustained retaliation against US military bases and interests across the region. It added that countries supporting Washington in such an operation would be treated as parties to the conflict.
The Iranian military did not disclose details or provide evidence regarding the alleged preparations.
The warning comes amid heightened regional tensions following recent drone and missile attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the US State Department issued a security alert on Saturday, warning of the possibility of an unexpected escalation in the Middle East. It advised American citizens to remain vigilant and prepare for potential flight cancellations and airspace closures.
Nearly seven months into the US-Iran conflict, neither side appears willing to make the significant concessions needed to end the hostilities. The continuing confrontation is also placing additional pressure on global energy markets and intensifying instability across the region.
