Islamabad: Thousands of mourners gathered in Islamabad to bid farewell to prominent religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Rafiq Shakir, who passed away due to a heart condition. His funeral prayers were offered at Jamia Masjid Syedna Usman Ghani in Sector G-14/4, drawing a large number of religious, political, and social personalities.
The funeral prayer was led by Pir Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman, sajjada nasheen of Eidgah Sharif. The atmosphere echoed with recitations of Kalma and Durood Sharif as attendees paid their respects.
Among those present were noted scholars and figures including Allama Zafar Iqbal Jalali, Pir Syed Jaber Hussain Shah, and Allama Tahir Iqbal Chishti, along with thousands of followers, students, and admirers.
Emotional scenes were witnessed as students and devotees mourned deeply. Speakers paid tribute to the late scholar’s religious services and prayed for his elevated ranks in the hereafter.
On this occasion, Pir Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman also performed the turbaning (dastarbandi) of Qari Muhammad Talha Rafiq Shakir, offering prayers and blessings for him.
