FIA Highlights Pakistan’s Migration Management Progress at EU MPF

BRUSSEL -UNS: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) represented Pakistan at the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF), held in Brussels on April 14–15, 2026. The event, themed “Enabling Partnerships and Innovation: A Decade of the Migration Partnership Facility,” brought together global stakeholders to discuss evolving migration challenges and cooperation.
Pakistan’s delegation was led by Muhammad Behram Khan, Director FIA Balochistan Zone, who participated in the panel discussion titled “Looking Ahead: Migration Management in a Fast Changing World.” Drawing on Pakistan’s operational experience, he highlighted FIA’s institutional advancements, including the Risk Analysis initiative, and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the European Union, its Member States, and associated agencies.
The panel was moderated by Christelle Wickened and featured key international experts, including:
Krzysztof Nowaczek from the European Commission Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs
Julio Vijande Rivera from FRONTEX
Hugo Rickberg from the Swedish Migration Agency
FIA reiterated its commitment to working with international partners to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration, while advancing shared goals in border security, migration governance, and protection of vulnerable migrants.
The MPF, funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), has supported nearly 100 projects since 2016. These include Pakistan-focused initiatives such as RAPAK I and RAPAK II, aimed at enhancing migration and border management cooperation.
