KP Govt considering reducing taxes imposed on land transfers:Haroon Shah

PESHAWAR -UNS: The caretaker provincial government has started considering resuming land transfers in some constituencies under the administration of the Finance Department and reducing the taxes imposed on land transfers.In this regard,Special Assistant for Revenue Pir Haroon Shah presented suggestions to the caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Cabinet meeting.

Giving further details to the media, Special Assistant on Revenue Pir Haroon Shah said that the previous government has banned land transfers in Patwar constituencies where land record computerization is in progress.There has been an impact on the revenue collected under the scheme, while the people are also facing challenges.

He said that in order to overcome the above-mentioned challenges, the finance department has proposed to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that the land record computerization process should be continued along with the process of land transfer in Patwar constituencies.

Special Assistant for Revenue, Pir Haroon Shah, while talking about land transfer taxes, said that land transfer taxes have been increased in the previous government due to which people are using simple stamps for land transfer.He said that this process has had a negative impact on the revenue received by the Finance Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the stamps for land transfers.

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while agreeing to all the reforms and suggestions presented by the Finance Department in the cabinet meeting, also issued instructions to the Senior Member Revenue Board to complete the legal and paper work as soon as possible and implement it.
