ISLAMABAD: The 96th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia underscores the longstanding and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, a relationship that has evolved over decades into a broad-based cooperation between South Asia and the Gulf.
The ties between the two brotherly countries extend beyond diplomatic, economic and cultural relations to include military training, defence cooperation, strategic coordination and security collaboration.
Pakistan-Saudi defence cooperation has recently entered a new phase, further strengthening the close relationship between the two countries.
The signing of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and the “Makkah Joint Defence Agreement” has further reinforced the defence and security dimension of bilateral ties.
Saudi Arabia’s 96th National Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the depth and evolving nature of Pakistan-Saudi relations, which have expanded from traditional bilateral engagement into a wider strategic partnership encompassing defence, security and regional cooperation.
