TEHRAN -UNS: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on Monday to discuss regional developments and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian said that pressure from the United States had brought Muslim countries closer together. He emphasized the need for Iran and Pakistan to capitalize on the region’s economic and strategic potential to meet their respective needs.
Pezeshkian highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries in several areas, including trade, the economy, politics, culture and science.
Naqvi is visiting Iran on an official trip aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and discussing regional issues.
Earlier, the interior minister held talks with his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni, at Iran’s Ministry of Interior.
Their discussions focused on bilateral relations, regional developments and progress on ongoing cooperation across various sectors.
Momeni praised the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir in promoting regional peace and stability. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s continued peace efforts and described his recent visit to Pakistan as highly productive.
