ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, hosted a reception in Islamabad to commemorate the 35th Independence Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan, bringing together senior government officials, diplomats, politicians, business leaders and members of the media.
Federal Minister Awais Leghari attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also among the prominent participants.
The reception was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from various countries, along with political leaders, business personalities, journalists and other distinguished guests, reflecting the strong diplomatic and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The national anthems of Pakistan and Uzbekistan were played during the ceremony, symbolising the friendship and mutual respect between the two brotherly countries.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented, showcasing Uzbekistan’s rich traditions and cultural heritage.
The event highlighted the steadily growing bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, particularly in the fields of diplomacy, trade, investment, regional connectivity, tourism and cultural cooperation.
