ISLAMABAD: A special joint meeting of the Majlis-e-Mushawarat (Consultative Council) and members of the Central Executive Committee of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S) was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the party’s Central Ameer, Maulana Abdul Haq Sani.
The meeting was hosted by JUI-S Central Vice Ameer Maulana Abdul Khaliq Hazarvi at his residence near Masjid Salman Farsi in Sector I-10/2, Islamabad.
During the eight-hour-long consultative session, participants held detailed discussions on organisational matters and reviewed various proposals aimed at strengthening, reorganising and further activating the party across the country.
The leadership said a comprehensive communiqué outlining the decisions taken during the meeting would be issued shortly.
In a significant organisational decision, the meeting unanimously appointed Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi as Patron of the party’s Majlis-e-Mushawarat.
Senior central and provincial leaders from across the country attended the meeting, including Central Ameer Maulana Abdul Haq Sani; Central Patron-in-Chief Mufti Habib-ur-Rehman Durrani; Central Secretary General Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousuf Shah; Patron Majlis-e-Mushawarat Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi; Central Vice Ameer Maulana Abdul Khaliq Hazarvi; KP Ameer Maulana Abdul Wahid Khateeb; JUI Northern Punjab Ameer Pir Abdul Quddus Naqshbandi; Sindh leader Maulana Iqbalullah; Central Information Secretary Maulana Khuzaima Sami; Central Deputy Secretary General Maulana Faheem-ul-Hassan Thanvi; and Central leader Maulana Usama Sami.
Other participants included Balochistan General Secretary Abdul Qayyum Mirzai; South Punjab Ameer Mufti Asad Durrani; Northern Punjab Secretary General Maulana Ayub Khan Saqib; South Punjab General Secretary Mufti Hussain Bashir Ahmad Shad; KP Secretary General Maulana Abdul Hayee Haqqani; KP Senior Vice Ameer Hafiz Abdul Rafi; Central Salar Qari Azam Hussain; Maulana Tahir Shah Akhunzada, Maulana Shafiq Daulatzai and Rehmatullah Dummar from Balochistan; South Punjab spokesperson Maulana Abdul Samad Durrani; and Hafiz Muhammad Farooq, host and JUI Islamabad leader.
