Malaysian High Commissioner hosts Iftar reception

SLAMABAD: Malaysian High Commissioner to Pakistan Puan Amelia Amani Lee Abdullah hosted an iftar reception on Wednesday at Malaysia High Commission, Islamabad.

Ambassadors from various countries, local business leaders, members of civil society, media representatives and Malaysian nationals residing in Pakistan participated.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner thanked the guests for their participation and highlighted the blessings and significance of the holy month of Ramazan. He said that Ramazan conveys a message of patience, tolerance, peace and love, and provides an opportunity to promote harmony and mutual respect among communities.

He added that such gatherings strengthen people-to-people contacts and help foster better understanding between Malaysia and Pakistan.

Participants appreciated the initiative and termed the event a symbol of friendship and cultural harmony between the two countries.

The reception concluded with prayers for peace, unity and prosperity in the region.
