Islamabad: U.S. President Donald Trump may personally attend the second round of talks in Islamabad, aiming to ease political and diplomatic pressure while also taking credit for potential progress in the peace process.
Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, is once again emerging as a focal point of global attention amid growing expectations of renewed high-level diplomacy.
Speaking to a reporter from the New York Post during his stay in Islamabad, President Trump hinted at imminent developments. He advised the journalist to remain in the city, stating, “Stay there, because something could happen in the next two days, and we are increasingly inclined to go to Pakistan.”
President Trump further noted that Pakistan is a likely venue for the talks,adding that the decision is influenced by the fact that “the Field Marshal is doing an excellent job,” signaling confidence in Pakistan’s role in facilitating the talks.
These remarks have intensified speculation that a major diplomatic announcement—or even a presidential visit—could be imminent, potentially elevating Islamabad’s role in ongoing international peace efforts.
