PTI Lawyer Meets Imran Khan After Seven Months, Bushra Bibi After 11

ISLAMABAD UNS: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, met their lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, at Adiala jail on Monday after months of restricted access.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Safdar said he met Imran Khan at 4:30pm, marking his first meeting with the former prime minister in seven months and with Bushra Bibi after 11 months.

He said the meeting was arranged following repeated applications and requests to prison authorities. However, the 40-minute meeting was not sufficient to discuss all pending legal cases and proceedings in detail.

According to Safdar, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi shared concerns about their health and living conditions inside the prison. They also provided fresh instructions regarding their ongoing legal cases.

The meeting comes amid repeated complaints from the PTI leadership and Imran Khan’s family over restrictions on access to the incarcerated party founder. The party has consistently demanded regular meetings with his lawyers and relatives.

Imran Khan has been imprisoned at Adiala jail since August 2023 and is facing multiple corruption and terrorism-related cases. He is currently serving sentences in the Al-Qadir Trust case and a Toshakhana reference involving a Bulgari jewellery set.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court directed jail authorities in September 2026 to end the isolation of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi and ensure facilities in accordance with prison rules.

The PTI has repeatedly raised concerns over Imran Khan’s detention and access to medical facilities, while demanding his release and fair treatment.
