NEW YORK: The Pakistan UN Club hosted a farewell dinner at the Harvard Club in New York in honor of Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s outgoing Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Speaking on behalf of the Club, President Ambassador (R) Qazi Shaukat Farid and General Secretary Ghulam Ghous appreciated Ambassador Asim’s efforts to promote closer cooperation and engagement between Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN and UN staff members.
They commended his leadership, support and commitment to strengthening collaboration within the Pakistani UN community and conveyed their best wishes for his new assignment as Foreign Secretary of Pakistan.
The Club’s representatives expressed confidence that Ambassador Asim would continue to serve the country with distinction in his new role.
In his remarks, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad thanked Ambassador (R) Qazi Shaukat Farid, General Secretary Ghulam Ghous and members of the Pakistan UN Club for hosting the farewell gathering and for their warm wishes as he prepares to assume his new responsibilities in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, and Consul General Aamer Ahmad Atozai also attended the dinner.
