Five Killed in firing incidents in Dera Ismail Khan

According to DPO Ziauddin Ahmed, the FBR personnel and traffic police officials were targeted while performing their duties.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five personnel, including four Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) employees and a traffic police official, were killed in two separate firing incidents in Dera Ismail Khan, according to police.

DPO Dera Ismail Khan Ziauddin Ahmed said armed men opened fire on a vehicle near Abhaya Bridge, killing four Federal Boad of Revenue FBR personnel. The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, while a search operation has been launched in the area to arrest the attackers.

Police said two of the deceased FBR officials were permanent employees, while the other two were working on a contractual basis.

In a separate incident on Bannu Road, unidentified assailants opened fire on a traffic police mobile, killing one police official and injuring another.

According to DPO Ziauddin Ahmed, the FBR personnel and traffic police officials were targeted while performing their duties.

Following the attacks, security has been tightened across Dera Ismail Khan city and surrounding areas, while law enforcement agencies are continuing efforts to trace and apprehend the attackers.
