ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration has sealed a Total PARCO petrol station in Sector I-9 after a citizen alleged that 61 litres of petrol were dispensed into a vehicle with a fuel tank capacity of only 50 litres.
Following the complaint, the Assistant Commissioner (Industrial Area), acting in the capacity of a magistrate, reached the site to investigate the matter. During the inspection, the complaint was reportedly found to be valid, prompting immediate legal action against the petrol station.
Authorities sealed the filling station, arrested the station manager, and imposed a financial penalty over the alleged violation.
The district administration stated that strict action would continue against petrol pumps found involved in fuel measurement fraud or other deceptive practices, emphasizing that consumer rights would be protected and no negligence or malpractice would be tolerated.
