Karachi Cricket Calendar to Be Introduced for Better Planning, Says Presidential Candidate Nadeem Omar

KARACHI -UNS : Regional Cricket Association (RCA) Karachi presidential candidate Nadeem Omar has announced plans to introduce a comprehensive Karachi Cricket Calendar to strengthen club cricket and ensure better organization across all zones.
He made the announcement while addressing a dinner hosted by Zone VII presidential candidate Muhammad Imran Khan in honour of Nadeem Omar and the successful zonal office-bearers from Zones I, III, IV, V and VI.
The event was attended by members of the Nadeem Omar panel, including Khalid Nafees, Azam Khan, Tausif Siddiqui, Khurram Ashraf, Afzal Qureshi, Musarrat Raza, Muhammad Raees, Majid Khan, Saim Ahmed Khan, Saeed Jabbar, Arif Hafeez, Shehbaz Qureshi, Zafar Ahmed, Rehan Ahmed, Tariq Hafeez, and others.
Nadeem Omar said a structured cricket calendar had become essential to improve and activate club cricket in every zone through mutual consultation and coordinated planning. He acknowledged the key role played by Azam Khan and Khalid Nafees in the RCA Karachi election campaign and pledged to work even harder for the development of Karachi cricket if elected.
He expressed confidence in the newly elected young office-bearers, saying they would play a vital role in promoting cricket and helping talented players from Karachi reach the national level.
Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Nafees urged supporters to ignore rumours regarding divisions within the panel. He dismissed reports of differences between himself and Azam Khan, describing them as baseless.
“We are united and will prove our unity on July 23,” Khalid Nafees said. “More rumours may emerge before the central elections, but our supporters should remain focused and cast their votes in favour of the Nadeem Omar panel for the betterment of Karachi cricket.”
He also praised Muhammad Imran Khan for hosting the gathering despite losing the Zone VII presidential election, saying true service to cricket was not limited to winning elections.
Tausif Siddiqui expressed confidence in the panel’s victory in the upcoming RCA Karachi elections, noting that all successful zonal office-bearers from the panel attended the event.
“We require 11 votes, and 15 of our members are present here today, which reflects our unity and strength,” he said. Siddiqui credited Azam Khan and Khalid Nafees for the panel’s successful campaign and thanked Muhammad Imran Khan for organizing the dinner.
The gathering was also addressed by Khurram Ashraf (Zone I), Afzal Qureshi (Zone III), Musarrat Raza (Zone IV), Majid Khan (Zone V), and Saim Ahmed (Zone VI), while several prominent figures associated with Karachi cricket attended the event.
