LAHORE: High-level negotiations involving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), International Cricket Council (ICC) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) concluded after more than five hours on Tuesday, with officials expecting a breakthrough within the next 24 hours, sources told Geo.tv.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held talks with ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium regarding Pakistan’s decision to opt out of its scheduled T20 World Cup 2026 match against India. BCB President Aminul Islam also attended the meeting.
According to sources, the ICC responded positively to Bangladesh’s concerns and a framework has been prepared to address the BCB’s grievances. Proposals were exchanged between the ICC and BCB, while the PCB played a coordinating role throughout the discussions.
Officials indicated that further consultations are underway and a final decision is likely to be announced within the next 24 hours.
