RAWALPINDI: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in the Chaklala area of Rawalpindi, while police have yet to arrest the suspect despite registering a case on the complaint of the victim’s father.
According to available information, the minor girl, who reportedly sold flowers and toys to support herself, was allegedly assaulted while she was out working.
Local police registered a case on the complaint of her father and said raids were being conducted to apprehend the suspect. However, no arrest has been made so far.
The delay has raised concerns over the pace of the police response, with allegations that local authorities initially attempted to suppress the matter. These allegations have not been independently verified.
Police officials said the investigation was continuing and evidence was being collected.
They added that investigators had so far been unable to obtain any relevant CCTV footage connected to the alleged incident.
The case has prompted calls for a swift, transparent investigation and immediate action to ensure justice for the minor victim.
