ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has reportedly sought nearly Rs1 billion to meet the anticipated costs of security arrangements for announced political marches and sit-ins, according to official sources.

The proposed expenditure is understood to cover a range of operational requirements, including the deployment of additional personnel, placement of security containers, accommodation and meals for personnel, security equipment, fuel and other logistical arrangements.

The funding request is reportedly linked to preparations for maintaining security and public order during the announced political activities in the capital.
