Rawalpindi, June 8: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has emphasized that the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the guidance of Awliya-e-Kiram provide a comprehensive framework for overcoming contemporary national and global challenges.
Addressing the annual Urs ceremony at Eidgah Sharif in Rawalpindi on Monday, Gilani described Eidgah Sharif as a historic institution that has been serving Islam, promoting social reform, and providing moral and spiritual guidance for nearly 150 years.
The Chairman Senate paid tribute to the founder of Eidgah Sharif, Hazrat Khawaja Hafiz Abdul Karim (RA), his successors Hazrat Hafiz Abdul Rahman (RA) and Hazrat Khawaja Hafiz Habib-ur-Rehman (RA), as well as the current Sajjada Nasheen Hazrat Pir Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman and his successor Hazrat Pir Muhammad Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman.
He noted that millions of followers worldwide remain connected with the Silsila-e-Aliya Siddiqia Naqshbandia, adding that scholars and spiritual leaders associated with Eidgah Sharif continue to spread Islamic teachings in the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe, and Gulf countries.
He said these efforts have helped guide many people towards Islam and reflect the institution’s significant spiritual and social contributions.
Gilani said the lives of Awliya-e-Kiram demonstrate that the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) transcend geographical boundaries and offer a timeless message of compassion, tolerance, service to humanity, and peaceful coexistence.
Highlighting the relevance of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), he stated that it teaches justice over domination, dialogue over hostility, and human dignity over material progress alone. He described the State of Madinah as a practical model of justice, equality, religious freedom, minority protection, and collective responsibility.
The Chairman Senate said Pakistan’s challenges, including economic difficulties, social inequalities, and unemployment, can be effectively addressed by adopting the principles of transparency, integrity, justice, hard work, and equitable distribution of resources embodied in Seerat-e-Tayyiba.
Referring to global issues such as wars, humanitarian crises, growing inequalities, religious intolerance, forced displacement, poverty, and climate-related challenges,
Gilani said the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) offer a roadmap for sustainable peace, human survival, and global harmony.
He stressed that Pakistan, as the land of Awliya-e-Kiram, has a responsibility to instill values of tolerance, moderation, respect for humanity, and service to society among younger generations to build a progressive and morally strong nation.
Gilani urged people to incorporate the universal message of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) into their daily lives by promoting love instead of hatred, unity instead of division, and hope instead of despair.
Concluding his address, he prayed for guidance to follow the teachings of Seerat-e-Tayyiba and Awliya-e-Kiram and contribute towards building a society founded on justice, compassion, brotherhood, and the highest human values.
