MAKKAH- UNS: Astronomers have said that the sun will appear directly above the Kaaba on Eidul Azha, creating a rare astronomical event that can help people accurately identify the direction of Qibla without modern equipment.
According to Arab media reports, the phenomenon does not indicate a heatwave despite the sun’s vertical position. Experts say such an alignment occurs only once every 139 years.
During the event, people around the world can determine the Qibla direction by observing the sun at the specified Makkah time. The direction in which the sun appears at that moment will point toward the Kaaba.
